Living Portraits

People have always collected memories of their family history, storing hundreds of photographs and hours of home videos for the future. These days with extended families being the norm, the amount of material collected can be phenomenal. Except for the super-efficient, all this material tends to end up as a chaotic mix of boxes of photos, piles of home videos and even ancient cine films that no one can watch any more!

Well, help is at hand! The urge to chronicle your past can now be simplified into one beautifully crafted video or DVD, a concisely edited, broadcast-quality Living Portrait of your family.

If you are fed up with information overload, and the time-consuming effort of sorting through it all, you can now hand over your favourite photos, piles of videos and even old cine films to professional film makers at Point of View Production Company to transform into a montage of highlights, a unique Living Portrait of your family history.

A Living Portrait
is a professionally produced DVD or video, completed within four to six weeks, depending on the amount of material supplied. The end product is a cohesive, concise and expertly edited film of family history complete with musical soundtrack chosen by the client.

“When we first thought of the idea, some people asked whether they could actually be interviewed to appear in their own Living Portrait, so we are now including that as an option” said Mike Ford. “Imagine how precious it would be to future generations to see their grandparents, or even greatgrandparents relating stories and anecdotes that otherwise would be lost for ever”.

There is always an initial in-depth discussion with the client, either at their home or at the Point of View office, so that important highlights such as special birthdays, holidays and anniversaries are featured in the Living Portrait

“The most important thing to remember is that every family is unique and has its own special requirements for their finished film, whether in terms of content, music or style. We are there to listen, absorb their requests and provide our clients with the same level of professionalism that we use to produce programmes for television” said Emma Ford.
